|This position is responsible for selecting the most suitable merchandise while meeting the high standards of answering the directly operated stores’ needs. Our client is one of the most important shoes (leisure and sports) worldwide. For this position you would need to relocate to Lugano and speak and write excellent English and German. We need people who are real “go getters”, adventurer who are used to setting up a buying and merchandising structure for the Swiss, Austrian and further European markets to be developed.
Responsibilities/role: Must have the necessary business acumen to produce sales growth and meet/exceed the annual financial objectives. Merchandising/buying, assorting appropriately by store and styles.Perform seasonal financial planning and monthly financial projections.Appropriately buy assortments for stores/markets mainly in Switzerland, soon in Austria and also further European markets.
Visit stores regularly to understand client needs.
Develop both short and long term strategies and execute effectively.
Independently manage respective buying budget per shoe styles.
Report sales and buying statistics and measure by KPIs
Work independently and as well in a team
Performs additional tasks as required
A minimum of 3 years prior buying experience in shoes is required, preferably in a sports/fast fashion, retail environment.
Very strong excel skills.
Excellent communicator in English and German (spoken and written).
Very analytic mindset – numbers driven.
Must have excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
Must possess the ability to maximize opportunities through skillful inventory management.
A college degree from an accredited college or university.
